Mumbai terrorists use phones to monitor media.

As a follow on from my post of the misuse of twitter there are a plethora of articles coming out discussing the recent terrorist attack in Mumbai, India - that is unfolding as I write this post. Having seen Tweetgrid tracking the tag #mumbai it is clear that the terrorists from ‘Deccan Mujahideen’ who stormed the hotels in Mumbai are using satellite phones to view media - what kind of media is not clear, but they are communicating amongst themselves…

News alert has an interesting piece on the use of Twitter as means of communication, and clearly articulates that the citizen journalism that is bringing these events to light, is also a very useful tool for would be terrorists to see at first hand the media coverage - which may work to their advantage.

The use of twitter as a military and terrorist tool is clearly becoming very real - whether these individuals are using it, or something similar in nature is yet to be determined.
